Medical Marijuana in Colorado
On November 6th, 2012, Colorado amendment 64 passed, which allowed the “personal use and regulation of marijuana” for adults 21 and over, as well as commercial cultivation, manufacture, and sale.If you are an adult 21 years of age or older, you can now legally possess one ounce of marijuana in Colorado. The way the amendment is worded actually allows for possession of one ounce of THC.
Medical marijuana in Colorado still requires a state red card, which can only be obtained by Colorado residents with a recommendation from a doctor that a patient suffers from a debilitating medical condition that may benefit from medical marijuana. Medical marijuana patients can obtain marijuana from a licensed center, a primary caregiver or self-grow.
